LEDA / PGC 24469 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type Sc in the constellation of Cancer at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 90 million light years from the Milky Way . Together with NGC 2648 , it forms the interactive galaxy pair Arp 89, which is cataloged in the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies .
The object was discovered by William Herschel on March 19, 1784 .
