The defending champion was Ramy Ashour , who qualified again for the tournament but was unable to participate due to an injury. Nick Matthew and Karim Darwish also canceled their participation due to injury . Darwish was originally intended as a substitute for Matthew. Lee Beachill and Ong Beng Hee moved up for Ashour and Matthew and Darwish respectively . In the final, Grégory Gaultier won against Amr Shabana 11: 9, 11: 8 and 11: 8. This was Gaultier's first win at this tournament.
