Pang Chun-ting

Pang Chun-ting ( Chinese  彭振 町 ; born January 2, 1983 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese composer .

Life

Pang Chun-ting studied composition with Law Wing-fai and electronic music with Clarence Mak at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 2002 to 2006 .

After receiving his Bachelor of Music (Honors) (2005) and Professional Diploma (2006), he studied composition with Malcolm Peyton and John P. Mallia at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston from 2006 to 2008 on a CASH scholarship , where he completed his career in 2008 obtained a Master of Music . With a further scholarship he did his PhD with David Felder at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York in Amherst. He also attended Brian Ferneyhough's composition courses in Royaumont (France) . In 2013 he was a participant in the Dian Red Kechil International Young Composers Residency at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.

His compositions have been performed by the Arditti Quartet , the Ensemble Sortisatio , the Ensemble Linea, the Cikada Ensemble and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra . They were u. a. performed at the Hong Kong Contemporary Music Festival, the Musicarama , the ISCM World Music Days 2010 in Sydney and as a representative of the Asian Composers League in Tel Aviv.
