Bellinzani was a respected composer during his lifetime who wrote mainly church works. His chamber music for small ensembles is also remarkable .

In terms of chamber music, there are twelve trio sonatas ad imitazione d'Arcangelo Corelli for two violins with basso continuo , which were not printed during Bellinzani's lifetime, unlike the twelve recorder sonatas (solos) with basso continuo Op. 3. These sonatas are still popularly published today. Op. 3 No. 12 a series of variations on the folia . However, these technically relatively demanding pieces are seldom performed. Bellinzani himself was probably not a flautist.
