Paolo Martinelli OFMCap (born October 22, 1958 in Milan , Italy ) is auxiliary bishop in Milan .

Life

Paolo Martinelli joined the religious order of the Capuchins and made temporary profession on September 8, 1980 . Martinelli put on 23 December 1984, the perpetual profession from and received on 7 September 1985, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He studied from 1988 to 1993 at the Pontifical Gregorian University , where he received his doctorate theologiae . On May 8, 2006, Martinelli became Consultor of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life , and from January 2012 he performed the same activity for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith .

On 24 May 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Musti in Numidia and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Milan. The Archbishop of Milan, Cardinal Angelo Scola , consecrated him and Franco Agnesi and Pierantonio Tremolada, who were also Auxiliary Bishops , episcopal ordination on June 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop Emeritus of Milan, Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi , and the Auxiliary Bishop in Milan, Mario Delpini .
