Paper technologist (Germany, Switzerland) or paper technician (Austria) is a profession and apprenticeship in the pulp and paper industry. Paper technologists primarily work in the production of paper , tissue , cardboard , cardboard and cellulose .

From 2005 to 2010 there were two branches of training, specializing in paper-board-cardboard and specializing in pulp . Austria

Switzerland

The dual vocational training lasts three years, with theoretical vocational school lessons taking place in two to three lesson blocks of 4 to 8 weeks a year at the papermaking school in Gernsbach (Germany). That is why Swiss trainees receive the German paper technologist certificate (recognized throughout the EU) in addition to the federal certificate of skilled paper technologist . If you do very well at school, you can attend the vocational college in Gernsbach during or after your basic education to obtain the German technical college entrance qualification.
