The Paramount Park in Rödermark ( Hessen ) was the former ice rink Rödermark and then nine years one of the most famous German metropolitan area nightclubs with a total area of 3,200 square meters. From October 1993 until the closure in October 2002, Paramount Park regularly hosted major techno events with well-known DJs. The disco until 2002

Paramount Park was divided into several areas: Mirage (large club), Cotton Club (small club) and various bar and bistro areas (e.g. Hollywood Cafe ). Characteristic for the disco was the dance floor in the Mirage, which was about two meters below , which was covered with aluminum plates and the five-minute laser show - sometimes even with fireworks - which was always held at midnight. There were four dance platforms at a lofty height on the outside of the dance floor. Opposite the spacious DJ booth was a stage on which the fireworks were set off - this could also be used as a dance stage after the fireworks. The laser system was located above the stage. The music system at the beginning came from the Eichler company and was replaced over the years by a JBL system.

Closure and renovation

After the closure, Paramount Park was rebuilt and divided into two areas, the SoundZ and the Maximum . The biggest structural change was filling the dance floor with concrete to create a ground floor dance floor. The genre of music changed from the electronic area to the hip-hop area. It was not until the techno club in 2006 that electronic music found its way back into the legendary park . From March 17 to June 16, 2006, a total of four techno club events took place at SoundZ .

Major fire and aftermath

In the summer of 2006, the SoundZ was closed again for renovation work. The Club Cambaz (back) and the night light (front) were created. On Boxing Day, around 10 p.m., a major fire broke out in the back of the hall. Despite immediate action by the fire brigade - which is located diagonally across from the park - the rear part of the hall could no longer be saved. The fire brigade let the hall burn down in a controlled manner, the front part was spared.

After a short renovation, the front part was reopened under the name Nachtlicht, closed again on April 1, 2008, and shortly thereafter reopened under the new name Barcode Lounge . Since the beginning of 2009, the club has been operating as an event location again under the name Nachtlicht . The regular disco operation has been discontinued, instead it is now possible to rent the night light for private events.

The name Paramount Park even today refers to the remains of the hall.

On October 1, 2010, a disco operation was resumed in the buildings under the name Paramount Suite , but stopped again a short time later.

From October 16, 2011, the DejaVue discotheque was operated in part of the building, later the "Voices Club" was located there.

In 2015 there were plans to completely redesign the square. The ruins were to be torn down and a residential and commercial park to be built.

In 2019, further plans became known: The company Frank Immobilien from Rödermark wants to build a multi-wing building complex with around 9,600 square meters and the focus on living.

In August 2020 there were two firefighting operations in Paramount Park in quick succession. The police are investigating arson.

The current operator is GAM Events in Dreieich.
