The parliamentary elections in Israel in 1977 took place on May 17, 1977. The 120 members of the ninth Knesset were elected . This parliamentary election ended the dominance of the left-wing Zionist parties ( Mapai , Mapam , Hashomer Hatzair , Poale Zion , Achdut haAwoda and Ratz ) that had existed since 1925 .
