action

After the birth of the son of Thakur Jaswant Singh and Rukmani Singh, an accident occurs in the hospital in which the nurse is killed. The doctors don't know who the Thakurs baby is, because another baby was born at the same time - the son of a courtesan who did not survive the birth.

They are forced to bring both children into the house, perhaps to find out who their biological son is - Raja or Ramesh. The father in particular is concerned about his family's reputation. His best friend Thakur Harnam Singh promises him at least his daughter Asha, who will later marry one of the sons after they return from abroad.

As the years go by, the boys grow up knowing that they were born. Both strive to behave in an exemplary manner towards their parents without seeing each other as competition. Her mother loves both sons equally, but the father cannot come to terms with it. The parents quarrel and the family threatens to break up completely. Raja decides to leave the family to resolve the dispute. He intentionally behaves inappropriately in public and gets into fights. He only confides in Asha, not knowing that she is the promised daughter and that Ramesh should marry.

After a confrontation with Raja's father, he finally realizes that it doesn't matter whose sons they actually are and that the only thing that matters is bringing up the children. And so Asha becomes Raja's wife.
