Fairy tale park Vilnius
The Fairy Tale Park Vilnius ( lit.Pasakų parkas ) is a fairy tale forest in the western part of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius , in the districts of Karoliniškės and Lazdynai , not far from the RIMI trade center and Karoliniškės music school , on Loreta Asanavičiūtė Street. In the city park there are wooden sculptures with various heroes from fairy tales and mythology .
history
The “Pasakų parkas” sculpture park was established in 1986. The theme park was officially opened on May 26, 1987 . The project author was landscape architect Romualdas Jurgilis. The “Žiedas” stop at the park was later renamed from “ Vilniaus viešasis transportas ” to “Pasakų parkas”. Here the lines No. 1, 3 and 9 drive the Vilnius trolleybuses . In 1987 the park was decorated with the wooden sculptures. For the safety of the visitors there were mounted police . The Vilnius Municipality built benches and a shed . In 2003 the park was cleaned under the direction of the Teacher's House Director Zita Žepnickienė, Head of the Karoliniškės District and the Lazdynai District , during the "Atgaivinkime Pasakų parką!"
From 2005 to 2008 there were Sunday festivals, always on the last Sunday in May.
In 2013 the municipal company UAB “ Vilniaus vandenys ” renewed the park.
