Pascal Dubreuil

Pascal Dubreuil is a French harpsichordist .

Life

After studying with Yannick Le Gaillard and at the Paris Conservatory, where Dubreuil graduated with first prizes in harpsichord and figured bass. He deepened his knowledge with numerous musicians, including Kenneth Gilbert and especially Gustav Leonhardt . He studied orchestral conducting with Nicolas Brochot .

In 1997 he received a 2nd prize for organ playing at the MAfestival Bruges competition . He then began a career as a soloist and chamber music player in France, Germany ( Ruhr Piano Festival ), Spain (Festival de Música antiga in Barcelona ), Slovakia (with Musica Aeterna Bratislava ), etc.

Teaching

Pascal Dubreuil teaches harpsichord, figured bass and chamber music at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional in Rennes , where he heads the department for historical performance practice . At the same time he teaches harpsichord, figured bass, chamber music and musical rhetoric ( Bachelor / Master ) at the Center d'études supérieures de musique et danse in Poitiers .

Pascal Dubreuil published the first complete French translation of Joachim Burmeister's Musica Poetica (1606) in collaboration with Agathe Sueur :
