Pascal Jenny
Pascal Jenny (born March 23, 1974 ) is a former Swiss handball player and today's tourism expert .
Sports career
During his active career, Jenny played at the clubs TV Suhr , Kadetten Schaffhausen and Grasshopper Club Zurich . In total, the winger played 348 games in National League A , in which he scored 1,124 goals.
Pascal Jenny played a total of 73 international matches (118 goals) for the Swiss national handball team . He took part in the 2006 European Championships with the Swiss national team.
Tourism Director
Since 2008 Jenny has been the tourism director in the sports and holiday resort of Arosa , where his great-great-grandfather August Jenny was the very first spa director from 1903 to 1910. In this role he is responsible for the organization and implementation of the Arosa Humor Festival together with the artistic director Frank Baumann .
Pascal Jenny is the initiator of the Arosa Bear Sanctuary , which was approved by the Arosa electorate in autumn 2016, six years after the first idea.
In 2016, Arosa Tourism's “event strategy”, largely shaped by Jenny, was awarded the Swiss Milestone Tourism Prize in the “Innovation” category.
At the beginning of 2017, Pascal Jenny was nominated as “ Bündner of the year 2016” by Southeastern Switzerland . Of the 16,550 votes cast by the readership of the Südostschweiz web portal , 14% went to Jenny, making him 3rd out of 10 nominees.
In 2018, Jenny also took third place in the vote for “ Aargauer of the Year”.
The business magazine Bilanz counts Pascal Jenny among the 100 most important personalities of the Swiss economy due to his touristic innovation and implementation strength.
