Career
society
Ojigwe was active in both midfield and defense. He started his career at Enyimba FC in Nigeria. In 1995 1. FC Kaiserslautern brought the young Nigerian to Germany. In his four years in the Palatinate, the midfielder played six times with the professionals and won the German championship with the club in 1998 . In 1999 he moved on loan to the then second division club 1. FC Köln , where he immediately became a regular player and played a major role in the promotion to the 1. Bundesliga . But he drew the attention of other clubs in the 1st Bundesliga to himself with his outstanding performance. Although the Cologne would have liked to keep him, Ojigwe opted for Bayer 04 Leverkusen , who committed him for a € 2.1 million transfer fee. Due to his time at Bayer, Ojigwe's success list also includes second place in the 1st Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Champions League - all in 2002.
However, he was unable to assert himself there in three years, moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2003 and a year later to Munich for TSV 1860 , where he also hardly played. His contract, which expired on June 30, 2006, was not renewed due to a knee injury and Ojigwe returned to his hometown club Enyimba FC for a year before retiring in 2007.
National team
Ojigwe already played in the Nigerian U-17 national team and won the 1993 World Cup with them , where he played all six games with Wilson Oruma in defensive midfield.
