Pasquale de 'Rossi

Pasquale de 'Rossi (* 1641 in Vicenza , † 28 June 1722 in Rome ), also known as Pasqualino de' Rossi , was an Italian Baroque painter .

He was an autodidact . First he copied works by other artists such as Pietro della Vecchia , Antonio da Correggio and Annibale Carracci . In 1666 at the latest he came to Rome, where two years later he became a member of the Virtuosi del Pantheon and in 1670 of the Accademia di San Luca . He mainly created sacred works such as altarpieces, but was also successful with genre paintings . In the 1670s he made a number of works for churches in the Marche .

He painted the baptism of the Lord for the Cappella Montemirabile in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome and also worked in the Royal Palace in Turin.
