history

Pass the Dutchie is a defused version of the song Pass the Kouchie by Mighty Diamonds, which was released in 1981, and here "Koutchie" (a joint , also kouchie, kutchie, ... ) was replaced by "Dutchie" (endearment for a Dutch oven ). In general, all references to drugs in the song were replaced by food , including the line "How does it feel when you got no herb?" ( German  "How does it feel to have no herbs?" ).

The publication took place on September 24, 1982; the reggae number became a number one hit in Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium .

You could hear this song in the movie Scooby-Doo .
