Patrick Salcher (born October 7, 1991 ) is an Austrian natural track luge . He rides in a single seater and has competed in the World Cup since 2012 .
Career
Salcher has been participating in Intercontinental Cup races since the 2006/2007 season. After numerous top 10 results, he celebrated his first victory in the second race of the 2010/2011 season in St. Sebastian . In 2008 Salcher was Austrian junior champion in single seater. In the same winter he took part in the Junior World Championship in Latsch , where he finished eighth. He then finished sixth at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Deutschnofen and at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Laas .
In the 2011/2012 season Salcher started in the World Cup for the first time . He finished 14th at the season opener in Latzfons , made it into the top 10 a week later in Olang and achieved his best result of the season two weeks later with fifth place in Nova Ponente. In the overall World Cup, he finished 15th.
In the summer Salcher also takes part in roller luge competitions, both in single and double seats. In the roller luge cup in 2009 he achieved second place overall in the junior class in the single-seater. In the men's class he finished second overall in 2011 and third overall in 2012. At the Austrian Roller Luge Championships in 2011, Salcher achieved second place in the single-seater, before he became Austrian champion in the single-seater for the first time in 2012 and, together with Lea Geiger, finished second in the double-seater.
