Patrick Salmen

Patrick Salmen (born September 22, 1985 in Wuppertal ) is a German satirist and writer .

Life and work

Salmen studied German and history for teaching at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . He won the poetry slam championships in 2010 in Bochum's Jahrhunderthalle and has been working as a freelance writer and artist ever since. The following year he was runner- up in the o2-World Hamburg at the largest slam event in Europe to date. Together with Torsten Sträter he organized the reading stage. His mostly humorous short stories have been published in various magazines and anthologies. His first independent publication was Distances in 2011 , followed by various other text collections at Lektora-Verlag and Knaur . In addition, in 2017 , Two more winters were published , a pure collection of poetry Salmen. Together with Quichotte , Salmen also brought out several literary puzzle books. They also form the rap duo Der Schreiner & Der Dachdecker, which published two albums. They founded the live late night show Delayed Night Show , but Salmen is mainly on the road with his live programs in German-speaking countries. Since 2018 he has been initiating and moderating the "Do-Gooders Gala" once a year at different locations, the proceeds of which go to charitable purposes.

Salmen lives and works in Wuppertal .
