The Patscher Schneid is a 3147  m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Rieserferner Group on the border between East Tyrol ( Austria ) and South Tyrol ( Italy ).

location

The Patscher Schneid is located in the northwest of the Lienz district (municipality of St. Jakob in Defereggen ) or in the northeast of South Tyrol (municipality of Sand in Taufers ). It lies between the Patscher Törl ( 3072  m above sea level ) in the southwest, which separates the Patscher Schneid from the Barmer Spitze ( 3200  m above sea level ) and the Fenneregg 3123  m above sea level. A. in the northeast. To the east of the Patscher Schneid is the small Rampleterkees, to the west of the Lenksteinferner. The main peak of the Patscher Schneid is defined by the Tyrolean spatial information system (TIRIS) as ( 3080  m above sea level ). Georg Zlöbl, on the other hand, differentiates between the southern Patscher Schneid (also Patscher Spitze , 3,082  m above sea level ), the northern Patscher Schneid ( 3,090  m above sea level ) and the northernmost Patscher Schneid ( 3105  m above sea level ). The mountain slopes in South Tyrol are protected in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park .

The normal route leads from the Barmer Hütte to the Patscher Törtl and then by crossing the ridge over all three peaks of the Patscher Schneid to Fenneregg ( UIAA II-III + ).
