Paul Abdel Sater

Paul Abdel Sater (born September 20, 1962 in Aïn El Remmaneh , Lebanon ) is a clergyman of the Maronite Catholic Church of Antioch and appointed Archbishop of Beirut .

Life

Paul Abdel Sater received on 29 June 1987, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the archeparchy Beirut .

The Synod of the Syrian-Maronite Church of Antioch elected him Curial Bishop of the Patriarchate of Antioch . Pope Francis confirmed the election on July 28, 2015 and appointed him titular bishop of Ptolemais in Phenicia dei Maroniti . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch, Béchara Pierre Cardinal Raï OMM , donated him episcopal ordination on September 5th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Beirut, Paul Youssef Matar , and the Archbishop of Haifa and the Holy Land , Moussa El-Hage OAM .

The Synod of the Maronite Church of Antioch announced its election as Archbishop of Beirut on June 15, 2019 .
