Paul Angenvoorth

Paul Angenvoorth (born August 10, 1948 in Krefeld ) is a former German marathon runner .

In his first start over the 42.195 km distance he was third in the German Marathon Championship in 1968 . At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 , he did not reach the goal.

In 1972 he was tenth in the Open British Championships in Manchester in a time of 2:16:44 h and qualified for the Olympic Games in Munich , where he came in 16th as the best German runner. At the German championship this year he was sixth. In 1973 he was German runner-up over 10,000 meters and finished eighth in the Manchester Marathon.

In 1976 he became German champion in his first marathon in three years. The following year he finished third in the German Championship with his personal best of 2:15:42 h.

In 1971, 1975 and 1977 he won the Route du Vin .

Paul Angenvoorth started for Bayer 05 Uerdingen . The commercial employee has been married to Manuela Angenvoorth (née Preuß ) since 1977 , who was also successful as a marathon runner in the 1970s.
