Paul Artin Boghossian (born June 4, 1957 ) is an American philosopher.

Life

Paul Boghossian's family is of Armenian descent. He first studied physics at Trent University in Peterborough (Ontario) , where he received his B.Sc. and received her PhD in Philosophy under Paul Benacerraf at Princeton University in 1987 . He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan from 1984 to 1992 and a visiting professor at Princeton in 1991.

He has received research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities , Magdalen College , Oxford, the University of London and the Australian National University . He is a Fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities . Boghossian has taught philosophy at New York University since 1991 , since 1995 as a professor. His main research interests are epistemology , philosophy of knowledge and philosophy of language. He was the dean of the department for ten years from 1994 to 2004. Since 2006 he has held the "Julius Silver Professorship". He is also the director of the New York Institute of Philosophy. In 2012 he received the post of Provost at the university .

Boghossian is co-editor of the journals Philosophical Studies and the Philosophers' Imprint .

He has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2012 .
