Paul McLean Caddis (born April 18, 1988 in Irvine ) is a Scottish football player in the position of a defender who is currently under contract with the English third division club Bradford City .

Career

Caddis began his career at Celtic Glasgow , where he made the leap to the first team via the club's U-17 and U-19 teams. The defender played his first professional game on July 26, 2007 in a friendly against Newcastle United . His competitive debut followed on January 27, 2008 against FC Falkirk , when he came on for Paul Hartley in the 74th minute . The game was won 1-0. This season he was also allowed to play in the Champions League. In the first leg of the first knockout round on February 20, 2008 against FC Barcelona , Caddis came in the 61st minute for Mark Wilson , but the game was lost 3-2. He was also able to celebrate the championship title with Celtic at the end of the season.

In the winter of 2008/09, Caddis moved on loan to Dundee United , where he played eleven games in the spring of 2009. At the end of the season, the club was fifth. After returning to the Celtic squad in the summer of 2009, he moved to Swindon Town in 2010 and has been on the Birmingham City squad since 2012 .

National team

Internationally, between 2008 and 2010, Caddis had 13 appearances in Scotland's U-21 team, most of them as captain. In qualifying for the U-21 European Championship 2011 , he failed with the team in the play-off round to Iceland. Caddis made his debut in the Scottish senior team on March 24, 2016 by substituting in a friendly against the Czech Republic.
