Paul Capon
Harry Paul Capon (born December 18, 1912 in Kenton Hall , Suffolk ; died November 24, 1969 in Hampstead , London ) was a British writer.
Life
Kenton was the son of farmer Harry Urban Capon and Bessie Martha, née Gooderham, and attended St. George's School in Harpenden , Hertfordshire . He worked in various areas of the film industry, including as a film editor and screenwriter . In the 1930s he made the editing of three films by Maurice Elvey , including The Clairvoyant (1934) with Claude Rains in the lead role. From 1941 to 1944 he was technical director of the Soviet film agency, from 1955 to 1957 editor at Disney in England and from 1963 to 1967 director of the film department at Independent Television News .
In addition to his work in film, Capon was the author of over 30 novels, including a large number of crime novels , nine science fiction novels , and some books for young people. His SF works include the Antigeos trilogy, in which terrestrial astronauts discover a counter- earth on which a utopian society has developed.
Capon was married to Doreen Evans-Evans, with whom he had two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1951. In 1956 he married Amy Charlotte Gillam in his second marriage.
