Paul Eberhard Kreisel

Paul Eberhard Kreisel (born August 24, 1931 in Vielau ; † November 11, 2011 ) was a German church musician and composer .

Life

Kreisel studied composition, piano playing and conducting in Leipzig in the 1950s . As a result, he took over the office of cantor in Kirchberg and taught as a teacher at the Aue music school in Glauchau and Zwickau, among others . When he was appointed cantor at St. Marien Cathedral in Zwickau , he gave up his music school activity. He held this church office from 1962 to 1996.

In the course of Kreisel's work, numerous compositions for choral and chamber music, instrumental concerts, orchestral pieces, songs, and organ literature were created. In addition to over 1200 chorale auditions, he created over 160 larger works and cycles.
