Paul Haddacks

Sir Paul Kenneth Haddacks (born October 27, 1946 ) is a former Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy and was Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man from 2005 to 2011 .

biography

Paul Haddocks joined the Royal Navy in 1964. After graduating from Britannia Royal Navy College, Dartmouth , he became an officer in the Far East Fleet. His first command was the patrol boat HMS Scimitar in 1971 . Later he was a navigation officer on various ships. In 1991 he became commander , he commanded the frigates HMS Cleopatra and HMS Naiad then he worked in the personnel department of the Ministry of Defense. In 1984 he was promoted to captain, after serving on the Ministry's planning staff, he commanded the amphibious landing ship HMS Intrepid . In 1990 he was in command of the British Naval Forces during the Second Gulf War . He later held posts with NATO before retiring in 2004.

On 31 December 1999 he was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath in the knighthood raised, and leads since then the suffix "Sir".

In 2005 he was named Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, the swearing-in ceremony took place on October 17th. After five and a half years, the British diplomat Adam Wood succeeded him as Lieutenant Governor on April 7, 2011.
