Paul Janett (born November 21, 1810 in Langwies ; † February 1, 1889 in Chur ) was a Swiss lawyer , camerawoman and politician .

Life

Paul Janett attended primary school in Churwalden and Seewis in Prättigau . He then switched to the canton school in Chur . He went to the universities in Munich and Heidelberg to study law and camera studies . In Heidelberg he joined the Corps Helvetia in 1835 .

In 1836 he entered the service of the canton of Graubünden and initially held various tasks in court administration. He took part in the Sonderbund War as a captain . In 1848 he was promoted to major . From 1848 to 1866 he was the cantonal police director and from 1867 to 1872 president of the district court.

As a politician, Paul Janett was a member of the large and small city ​​councils of Chur in the 1970s and 1980s . From 1871 to 1872 and from 1874 to 1875 he was a member of the Bündner Government Council and from 1876 to 1881 President of the Cantonal Court.
