Paul Kielholz

Paul Kielholz (born November 15, 1916 in Brugg ; † May 25, 1990 ) was a Swiss psychiatrist .

The son of Arthur Kielholz , director of the Königsfelden Psychiatric Clinic , studied medicine and received his doctorate in 1943 at the University of Zurich . In 1947 he began training as a psychiatrist at the Psychiatric University Clinic in Basel . He was appointed senior physician in 1951 and completed his habilitation in psychiatry in 1955 . From 1959 to 1985 he was Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Basel and Director of the Psychiatric University Clinic. 1966/67 he was dean of the medical faculty, 1983/84 rector of the university.
