Paul Kieras

Paul Kieras (born September 19, 1918 in Bralin , Central Silesia , † March 10, 1997 in Sankt Augustin ) was the senior district director of the Siegkreis and the resulting Rhein-Sieg-Kreis .

Youth and war years

Paul Kieras grew up in Ohlau and graduated from high school here in 1937 . He spent the next eight years in the Reich Labor Service and in the Wehrmacht . Before the end of the war he was first lieutenant and commanded a battery . He was released from American captivity as early as 1945.

Political career

In 1946 Paul Kieras resumed studying law and political science, which had already begun during the war. He graduated from the University of Mainz with the trainee exam and the assessor exam with distinction.

After graduating, Paul Kieras worked as a court assessor . In 1952 he was in the circle Schleiden District Counsel , two years later he was elected there as deputy chief district. On February 2, 1959, Kieras became senior district director in the Siegkreis. He was re-elected in 1970 and 1982 in the resulting Rhein-Sieg district. He retired on October 1, 1983, and was succeeded by Dr. Walter Kiwit .

Honors

Paul Kieras was awarded the 1st Class Cross of Merit on November 5, 1973 , the Great Cross of Merit in 1983 and the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on March 16, 1990 .

Private life

In 1944 he married Margit Littmeyer from Bochum .
