Paul M. Waschkau

Paul M. Waschkau (* 1963 in Neumünster , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German writer , playwright and director . He has been working and living in Berlin since 1986 .

Life

From 1982 to 1988, Waschkau studied philosophy and political science in Kiel , Munich , Paris and West Berlin . At the end of his studies he began to publish literary and essayistic texts in magazines and anthologies. Since then, the first plays have premiered at Berlin offtheaters.

Waschkau was editor of the MINERVA magazine for self-defense and philosophy (1987-1991) and the magazine for poetry and visions archangelsk (1995-1997). In 2003 he initiated the 1st Danielle Sarréra - Congress in the Berlin Orphtheater , in 2009 the Antonin-Artaud - Tribunal in the Theaterkapelle Berlin.

Since 2006 he has been the artistic director and director of the international art formation INVASOR, which focuses on poetic, multilingual theater productions and radio play compositions.

Waschkau was u. a. with the following grants promoted: grant from the Berlin Senate, the Kunststiftung Schoeppingen, the foundation Kulturfond, the Artaud Foundation.

In 2011 he received the Leonhard Frank Prize from the Leonhard Frank Society and the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg for his dramatic composition "Bei Lebigem Leibe" . The production associated with the award was canceled by the director in June 2012 three days before the premiere "for the protection of the Würzburg audience". The author then put the text online and set up a "Naked Life" material page for the case.
