Paul Maximilian von Roux

Paul Maximilian von Roux (born November 28, 1804 in Wikoline ( Guhrau district ), † June 2, 1884 in Schweidnitz ) was Prussian major general and most recently in command of the Neisse fortress .

Life

origin

His parents were the master of Wikoline Marcus Antonius Andreas Julius von Roux (* May 9, 1776; † June 28, 1828) and his wife Sophie Wilhelmine, nee Kienitz (* December 24, 1780; † August 14, 1854).

Career

He came to Berlin on January 4, 1819 as a cadet and from there on October 13, 1823, he joined the 10th Infantry Regiment as a second lieutenant. From 1837 to 1841 he was used as a battalion adjutant, during which time he was promoted to Premier-Lieutenant on June 12, 1838. On August 14, 1841 he joined the 12th Landwehr Brigade as an adjutant, and on February 8, 1845 he returned to the 10th Infantry Regiment. There he was appointed captain and company commander on March 18, 1845. On September 22, 1851 he was promoted to major and came to the 11th Landwehr Regiment, where he came as a commander in the 1st battalion in Glatz. On January 29, 1856 he was transferred to the 23rd Infantry Regiment, where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on October 15, 1856. On March 12, 1859, he was appointed commandant of Spandau and placed à la suite of the 23rd Infantry Regiment. He received the character of a colonel on May 31, 1859 and came to the 4th Landwehr Regiment as a commander on June 14, 1859. On May 3, 1860, he received his patent as a colonel and was transferred to the Neisse fortress as commandant. In addition, on October 18, 1861, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class with ribbon . On June 9, 1864, he was then put up for disposal with the character of major general .

In the run-up to the Franco-German War , he was appointed deputy commander of the 22nd Infantry Brigade on July 18, 1870. On October 12, 1871, he received the Order of the Crown, 2nd Class . On November 4, 1871, he was returned to the inactive relationship. He died on June 2, 1884 in Schweidnitz.

family

He married Pauline Wilhelmine Sophie Freiin von Lüttwitz on December 6, 1833 at Glogau Castle near Schweidnitz (* January 25, 1807; † June 8, 1887). The couple had several children:

  • Emil Ernst Julian (born September 13, 1834 - † August 8, 1870), killed in the Battle of Wörth
  • Maximilian (born April 1, 1843; † 1914), real secret councilor ⚭ 1888 Elisabeth von Altrock (1866–1920)
