Paul Narracott

Paul Narracott ( Paul Andrew Narracott; born October 8, 1959 in Florey , Canberra ) is a former Australian sprinter and bobsledder .

In 1977 he won the Pacific Conference Games over 100 m and won silver over 200 m . At the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf he finished eighth over 100 m and came seventh in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the oceanic team.

At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , he was sixth over 100 m, fourth over 200 m and seventh with the Australian 4-by-100-meter relay. In 1982 he was fourth at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane over 100 m, 200 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay.

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 he was seventh over 100 m and reached the quarter-finals over 200 m .

In 1984 he was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Los Angeles over 100 m in the quarter-finals and over 200 m in the preliminary run.

He was six times Australian champion over 100 m (1977-1979, 1982-1984).

At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, he came in 30th place with Glenn Turner in the two-man bobsleigh. He was the first Australian athlete to compete in both Summer and Winter Olympics.
