Remarks

  1. From the available literature, neither Philip's city of birth nor his nationality can be clearly determined. Alberto Shayo names Berlin as Philippe's birthplace, but not a nationality. Judith Miller describes him as "a Polish sculptor", a Polish sculptor. According to onlinegalleries.com Philippe "[was] born in Thorn in Poland" was born in Toruń , Poland, which, however, belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia in the year Philip was born - 1870 . Some biographies on art auction websites such as artnet.com , invaluable.com , artbronze.com ( memento of January 21, 2017 in the Internet Archive ) or bonhams.com name “French” as their nationality.
