Paul Richter (politician, 1903)

Paul Richter (born December 26, 1903 in Berlin ; † December 2, 1963 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Richter trained as a mechanic . As early as 1918 he became a member of the Free Socialist Youth (FSJ), later he switched to the Communist Youth of Germany (KJD). As a trade unionist, he became a member of the German Metalworkers' Association (DMV) as early as 1919 . In 1921 he joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD) to join the SPD in 1927. From 1928 to 1933 Richter was chairman of the works council at Loewe Radio . With the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , he was disciplined. Nevertheless, he was able to take the master's examination in 1939 .

After the Second World War , Richter entered the public service . From 1946 to 1949 he was district councilor for economics in Berlin-Kreuzberg . From 1950 to 1962 he was a member of the district assembly of Berlin-Kreuzberg. At the same time he became chairman of the SPD Neukölln for two years in 1951 . His predecessor as well as his successor as chairman of the SPD Neukölln was Herbert Theis .

Richter moved for one year in 1962 due to the death of Fritz Barthel man in the Berlin House of Representatives after.
