Paul Schorno

Paul Schorno (born April 8, 1930 in Seewen ; † November 4, 2019 ) was a Swiss theater critic and book author .

Life

He attended the teachers' seminar, obtained his primary school teacher license, was a home educator, organist, librarian and worked as a music, literature and theater critic for the Basler Volksblatt, the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung and other publications. From 1959 he was a secondary school teacher in Basel and was co-author of a four-volume school reading book for the middle school. He also wrote school radio and radio programs. Schorno was president of Literaturfreunde Basel and a member of Janus / GS-Verlag Basel and the international writers' association PEN . During the Basel Story Week 2006 he played an event in the city library under the motto " An evening with Paul Schorno ". In the last years of his life two books were published by him.

Prices

In 1967 he received the advancement award of the city of Basel.
