Paul Friedrich August Karl Schröder , also Paul Schroeder (born August 9, 1875 in Stolpe , † August 2, 1932 in Rostock ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Paul Schröder was born on August 9, 1875 as the son of a small trader in Stolpe. After attending elementary school in his home community, he completed the teachers' seminar in Neukloster from 1897 to 1899 . He worked from 1899 to 1900 as a primary school teacher in Pampow , from 1900 to 1902 in Wustrow and finally until 1919 in Rostock. After his retirement in 1929 he worked as a private teacher in Rostock. On August 2nd, 1932 Paul Schröder committed, apparently due to its progressive sugar disease , suicide .

Paul Schröder remained unmarried until his death.

politics

Schröder was a member of the Rostock citizens' council from 1911 to 1918. He joined the SPD in 1918 and was elected to the Rostock city council in 1919, to which he belonged initially until 1927 and then again from 1930 to 1932. From 1920 to 1932 he was a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . In 1923/24 he served as President and from 1924 to 1926 as Vice President of the State Parliament.

Schröder was a paid city councilor in Rostock from 1919 to 1925. From July 8, 1926 to July 9, 1929 he was Prime Minister of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . At the same time he took over the management of the ministries for foreign affairs and interior.
