At the end of Michael Häupl's 23-year term in office as Mayor and Governor of Vienna, Tesarek, who had seen Häupl's entire term in office from a journalistic point of view, published the biography " I am Mayor and not God: The ups and downs of the Michael Häupl era in Vienna" . Towards the end of his career, this closes the circle between his journalistic activities and his studies mentioned above.
