Peter Nidetzky

Peter Nidetzky (born June 5, 1940 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian television presenter at ORF . He achieved great fame as the head of the Vienna recording studio for the wanted program Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved . Until 2001, he was also President of the State Association for Riding and Driving in Lower Austria and Federal Referee for Show Jumping in the Federal Association for Riding and Driving in Austria (FENA).

From March 1968 to December 2002 the ORF co-production partner of the ZDF program Aktenzeichen XY… was unsolved . As the successor to Teddy Podgorsky , who was later promoted to director of the ORF, Peter Nidetzky took over the management of the recording studio in Vienna for more than 30 years. From this he announced search reports from the police and spectator references from Austria. In addition, Nidetzky was teletext boss for many years at ORF . He also gained notoriety as a co-commentator on the ORF live broadcast of the first moon landing .

Equestrian sport

Once a year Nidetzky organized the Festival of Horses in the Wiener Stadthalle , a horse show with international tests in show jumping and national tests in dressage . The Horse Festival was the third CSI 4 * tournament , alongside the Nations Cup in Linz-Ebelsberg and the Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg . In 2007 a total of 61 athletes from 21 nations took part. After Nidetzky had not found a successor as a tournament organizer, it was planned to conclude the festival of horses in 2010 (on the 25th anniversary) as a CSI 5 * tournament. However, this last planned festival of horses could no longer be held because the necessary sponsorship money was missing. After a one-year break, the tournament is now being continued by a different organizer under the name Wiener Pferdefest .

In 1991 Nidetzky published a book entitled Equestrian Sports in Austria about his many years of involvement with horses , which gives the reader an overview of the various activities and possibilities within equestrian sports as well as leisure offers within Austria.

His son-in-law is the politician Karl Nehammer .
