Amadeus Horse Indoors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Amadeus Horse Indoors has been an international equestrian event that has been taking place in the Salzburgarena and the Salzburg Exhibition Center since 2006 . In 2012 the tournament belonged to the highest tournament category in dressage for the first time ( CDI  5 *). In addition, a World Cup test in vaulting and international jumping competitions CSI  4 *, CSIU25-A) will be held.

history

At the premiere, the tournament was advertised as an international show jumping tournament in the CSI 2 * category. In the following year the prize money was increased, a CSI 3 * and an international dressage tournament in the CSI 3 * category were held. From that year until 2013, a local auto dealership, the Pappas Group, was the tournament's name sponsor. In 2014, Edelsteinmanufaktur Mevisto took over the name sponsorship, so the full name of the tournament is now Mevisto Amadeus Horse Indoors .

As a result, the tournament grew into the most extensive equestrian event in Austria. From 2008 dressage and show jumping were held at an international 4 * level. The European Youngster Cup has been in Salzburg since 2007, and the final was held here for the first time in 2012. For the first time in 2009 the vaulters made a guest appearance in Salzburg, one year later Salzburg was already a station of the newly founded Vaulting World Cup.

In 2012, the Amadeus Horse Indoors was the first ever tournament in Austria where dressage tests were advertised as CDI 5 *. The Western European League of the Dressage World Cup has been in Salzburg since 2015 .

For years, the program in Salzburg has included tests for professional athletes as well as tests for young riders in dressage in jumping and amateur jumping competitions.

The tournament

The Amadeus Horse Indoors initially took place in October, at the beginning of the indoor season. From 2010 the tournament was postponed to the beginning of December. The first day of the tournament is Thursday, the event continues until Sunday evening.

The main tests of the tournament will take place in the Salzburgarena. There are also other venues in the adjacent exhibition halls. In addition to equestrian sports , a fair for horse and dog sports , which also covers topics outside of sports, takes place in the exhibition halls .

There are also show numbers, polo , horseball and agility competitions.
