Franz-Josef "Peppi" Dahlmann (born September 24, 1979 in Wickede ) is a German show jumper .

General

Dahlmann was active as a Nations Cup rider for Germany several times and was a member of the German B2 squad of show jumpers. In addition, he led the stallion Comme il faut to the vice world championship title for five-year-old show jumpers at the 2010 World Championships for young show jumpers.

Dahlmann's parents owned a riding facility in Fröndenberg . His father, Franz-Josef Dahlmann senior, was a dressage rider at Grand Prix level. He has been nicknamed Peppi since childhood . Dahlmann is married.

Career

After graduating from school in 1996, he did an apprenticeship as a rider in Mühlen in Paul Schockemöhle's stable under the supervision of Dietmar Gugler . After completing his training, he began working for the entrepreneur and team gold winner of the 1988 Olympic Games, Wolfgang Brinkmann . In December 2004, Franz-Josef Dahlmann passed his horse management exam .

At the beginning of 2009 Dahlmann moved to the stable of show jumping national trainer Otto Becker in Sendenhorst , where he worked as operations manager and chief rider. From the end of 2011 to the end of 2012 he worked at the Zangersheide stud owned by the Belgian Leon Melchior. Here he rode several horses from Judy-Ann Melchior during her pregnancy break. After a short period in Fröndenberg , Dahlmann took over the stable management and the sporting direction of the Beijing International Equestrian Club in Beijing from March to October 2013 . Since November 2013 he has been back at his parents' riding facility in Fröndenberg.
