Career

Katharina Offel, who grew up in Buchloe , had contact with horses from an early age. Since the age of eight, she has invested a lot of time in riding and her first successes in jumping and eventing up to class M soon followed. In 1992, Katharina Offel began to ride in the Moksel AG show stables, whose boss at that time was Ludger Beerbaum . With the Stroke of Luck made available to her , she won the first difficult jumps. In 1996 she graduated from high school and became a trainer in a private stable near Augsburg. From 1998 she lived and worked in a training and trading stable in Lohmar . In 2004 she became the German female show jumping champion on A la Ballerina .

Since April 2005 she competes in tournaments for Ukraine. She celebrated probably the greatest success of her career at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in 2006 , when she finished fourth with the Ukrainian team. The Ukrainian team surprisingly qualified for the 2008 Olympic Equestrian Competitions . At the end of 2007 / beginning of 2008 she took a break during her pregnancy, and after the birth of her son she returned to active sports.

At the Olympic qualification for Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Oceania within the framework of the CHIO Aachen 2011, Katharina Offel was the best rider in the individual ranking. In addition, she and the Ukrainian team won the Nations Cup here, which means that Ukraine qualified for the Summer Olympics. In the second half of 2011, Oleksandr Onishchenko withdrew the horses that had previously been made available to Offel. From March of the 2012 Olympic year, Katharina Offel had Onishchenko's horses again, but he no longer appeared as her sponsor.

In September 2013 Offel moved to Wipperfürth, where she was self-employed. At the beginning of 2015 she moved into a larger riding facility in Guttecoven, the Netherlands . In autumn 2017 the location was changed again, Offel moved into a riding facility in Bemelen , a few kilometers from Maastricht .

Almost two and a half years after her change of nationality, Offel played another Nations Cup for Germany in May 2018.

In March 2013 she was ranked 36th in the world rankings of the FEI .
