Paul Wagner (* 1948 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is a film director , film producer , screenwriter and film editor , with an Oscar was awarded.

Paul Wagner was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1948, the youngest of three children. There he also attended Catholic high school and received his bachelor's degree in English and his master's degree in communication from the University of Kentucky . Wagner lives in Charlottesville , Virginia with his wife Ellen and their four children .

Career

Wagner's career in the film business began in 1982 with his documentary , for which he wrote the screenplay, was responsible as a producer and made his directorial debut. For his second film, The Stone Carvers , Wagner and Marjorie Hunt received an Oscar in the category “ best short documentary film ” at the 1985 Academy Awards . In 1995 the documentary Out of Ireland was released, which takes up the subject of Irish immigrants to the United States .
