Paula von Hentke , also Paula Hentke-Müller (around 1900 - after 1954) was an opera singer with a soprano voice who appeared at the Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg Festival .

Life

There is little information about Paula von Hentke. Her engagement at the Vienna State Opera from January 1922 to June 1925 is guaranteed, where she sang numerous small roles, but also appeared in some prominent roles, for example 23 times as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro , 17 times as Lucienne in Die dead city , 14 times as Ida in the bat and 9 times as Esmeralda in the Bartered Bride . In Engelbert Humperdinck's fairy tale opera Hansel and Gretel she sang four times the dew man and the sand man. She also appeared in operas by d'Albert , Pfitzner , Puccini , Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner . At the Salzburg Festival in 1922 and 1925 she sang Barbarina and in 1926 Ida in the bat . In the 1932/33 season she was engaged in Teplitz . In April 1932 she appeared again as Esmeralda in the Vienna State Opera, in May 1935 she took over there in a performance of Adele in der Fledermaus .

Paula von Hentke was also a concert singer, for example she sang arias by Bizet and Meyerbeer , Johann Strauss , Handel and Mozart in concerts by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1922, 1923 and 1927 .

In 1942/43 she performed several times in the Vienna Schubert Hall with recitals, accompanied on the piano by Karl Hudez. Works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Liszt, Brahms and others were part of the lecture. a.
