Pauline McLynn

Pauline McLynn (* 1962 in Sligo ) is an Irish actress and writer .

Six months after McLynn was born, her parents Padraig and Sheila moved with her to Galway , later she studied English and art history at Trinity College in Dublin . There she joined a student theater group and after graduation pursued a career as a stage actress. Dermot Morgan discovered her in the late 1980s for the comedy show Scrap Saturday on RTÉ Radio 1 . In the 1990s she starred with him in Father Ted , for which she received a British Comedy Award in 1996 . Later she was u. a. seen in other comedy series, in the soap EastEnders and in the films The Ashes of My Mother and Gypo . McLynn has also worked as a writer since the late 1990s and has published several novels.
