Paulo Ricardo Ribeiro de Jesus Machado (born March 31, 1986 in Bairro do Cerco , a district of Porto ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Machado learned to play football in the youth of FC Porto and made his debut in the 2003/04 season as part of a cup game under coach José Mourinho with the professionals. In the summer of 2005 he signed a five-year contract with the club and was loaned first to CF Estrela Amadora and then to União Leiria and Leixões SC . In the 2008/09 season , another loan deal led him to Ligue 1 for AS Saint-Étienne . There he contributed to relegation with his performances. For the 2009/10 season Machado signed a four-year contract with Toulouse FC . For the 2012/13 season Machado moved to Greece to Olympiacos Piraeus .

In the national team

Machado went through the youth national teams of his country. In 2003 he won the U17 European Championship . He also took part in the 2007 European Under-21 Championship .

On 17 November 2010 he gave under coach Paulo Bento made his debut in the senior team as part of a friendly match against Spain .
