Paulus Ebner

Paulus Ebner (born October 9, 1963 in Amstetten , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian historian who works and lives in Vienna .

After graduating from the Bundesgymnasium Amstetten , Paulus Ebner studied history and German at the University of Vienna . He completed his history studies in 1989 with the diploma thesis "The struggle between the Catholic Church and social democracy over the introduction of cremation in the First Republic". Between 1989 and 1993 Ebner worked on the research project "Structures of musical life in Vienna in the interwar period" at the University of Music and Performing Arts . The research project “History of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences” followed between 1993 and 1997 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna . Ebner then worked on the city's contemporary historyAmstetten . Between 1999 and 2001 he devoted himself to the research project “250 Years of Schönbrunn Zoo ”. Ebner completed his many years of work as a freelance scientist and specialist in contemporary and cultural-historical topics (focus: the time of National Socialism , 1968 movement ) with his dissertation "The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences as a place of politics from 1914 to 1955". Since then, Ebner has been working in the archives of the Vienna University of Technology , which he has headed since January 2016.
