Pedra de Lughia Rajosa
The menhir and the dolmen Pedra de Lughia Rajosa ( German "stone of the witch " - which is called "Lughia Rajosa" in Sardinia) are located at Alà dei Sardi in Gallura in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . The ensemble is located about 400 m from the church “St. Antonius Oriscudu ”.
The anthropomorphic basalt menhir is 2.7 m high and has two humps on the front that represent breasts. A structure protruding to the left is considered a baby while breastfeeding. The interpretation of the menhir shape corresponds more to the tradition described by the witch Lughia Rajosa and has no parallels as a sculpture on the island.
A few meters away there are three stones of similar size in the ground, which are considered the "Pedra de Lughia Rajosa". The stone triangle forms the support for a large basalt block that rests at a slight angle. There are four bowls of different sizes on the surface . The structure looks like a dolmen, but it could also be a prehistoric altar (similar to that found on Monte d'Accoddi ).
Nearby are:
- the Domus de Janas of Ludurru
- the dolmen di Monte Maone ,
- the dolmens of Buddusò
- the Nuraghe and the Domus de Janas of Iselle
- the Nuraghe Loelle
- Sos Nurattolos a well sanctuary and megaron temple
