Pedro Jesús Aquino Sánchez (born April 13, 1995 in Lima ) is a Peruvian football player . He has been under contract with the Liga MX club Club León since July 2018 .
Career
society
Aquino comes from the youth of the Sporting Cristal club . For the professional team, he made his debut in the Primera División on June 2, 2013 in the 0-2 home defeat against Club Sportivo Cienciano . For the 2017/18 season he moved to CF Monterrey in Mexico , which immediately sent him to league rivals Lobos de la BUAP in a loan deal . For the team from Heroica Puebla de Zaragoza , he was used in 28 league games. After the loan he moved to Club León .
National team
Pedro Aquino was in action for various youth selections in Peru. He made his debut for the senior national team on September 1, 2016, on the occasion of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia , in the 2-0 defeat against Bolivia . Despite this defeat, Peru reached 5th place and ultimately qualified for the finals via the play-offs.
Aquino was also part of the Peruvian World Cup squad at the 2018 World Cup in Russia . In the 0-1 opening defeat against Denmark , Aquino came on for Renato Tapia in the 87th minute . In the game against France he was promoted to the starting lineup by coach Ricardo Gareca . The game ended with another 1-0 defeat and sealed the end of the Peruvians. In the last group game, in the 2-0 win over Australia , he was brought into play in the second half for Yoshimar Yotún .
