Renato Tapia Cortijo (born July 28, 1995 in Lima ), better known as Renato Tapia , is a Peruvian football player . He is currently under contract with the Dutch first division club Feyenoord Rotterdam .

Club career

In July 2013 Renato Tapia was signed by the Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede . There he was initially used for the youth and reserve team, which was integrated into the second-class Eerste Divisie for the 2013/14 season together with the youth teams from Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven . Twente Enschede did the worst of the three teams and only reached 17th out of 20 places in the table. Renato Tapia has already appeared in 19 games. The Peruvian midfielder was in the professional squad several times, but was not used. In the 2014/15 season he made his debut on the first day of the match in a 1-1 draw against SC Cambuur for the first team. After that, Tapia had to pause until November 2014 due to an ankle injury, then played two more games for the reserve and then became a regular in the central midfield of the first team in the further course of the season. He knew how to convince with five goals in 17 games. At the end of the season, the Peruvian tore his knee ligament, which is why he also missed the 2015 Copa America .

National team

In 2011 Renato Tapia took part with the U-17 national team in the U-17 soccer South American Championship and in 2013 with the U-20 national team in the U-20 South American soccer championship . The U-17 team was eliminated in the group stage. In the U-20s, Peru was group winners, but missed qualifying for the U-20 World Cup in 2013 in the subsequent final round . On March 31, 2015 Renato Tapia made his debut in the 1-0 defeat against Venezuela for the Peruvian national soccer team . He scored his first goal for Peru in the 2-1 victory in the World Cup qualifier against Ecuador on September 7, 2016. He was also in Peru's squad for the 2018 World Cup , in which Peru after two 0-1 defeats against Denmark and France and a 2-0 win against Australia as third in Group C in the group stage. Tapia was used against Denmark and Australia.
