Pedro Javier Torres

Pedro Javier Torres (born December 31, 1960 in Córdoba , Argentina ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Córdoba .

Life

Torres studied first at the Franciscan College and then at the seminary in Cordoba . He obtained a degree in moral theology from the Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome . On December 6, 1984, he received the sacrament of ordination through the Archbishop of Cordoba, Cardinal Raúl Francisco Primatesta . In addition to activities as parish vicar and pastor as well as lecturer and rector of the seminary in Córdoba, he was commissioner for ecumenism and interreligious relations in the archdiocese.

On 16 November 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Castellum in Numidia and Auxiliary Bishop in Cordoba. He was ordained episcopal on December 27th of the same year by the Archbishop of Cordoba, Carlos José Ñáñez . Co- consecrators were the former bishop of Villa María , José Ángel Rovai , and the prelate of Humahuaca , Bishop Pedro María Olmedo Rivero .
