Pedro Paulo Santos Songco (born June 29, 1889 in Porac , Pampanga ; † April 6, 1965 ) was a Filipino Roman Catholic clergyman who was first bishop between 1938 and 1951 and then first archbishop of Caceres from 1951 until his death in 1965 was.

Life

Pedro Paulo Santos Songco was ordained a priest on May 15, 1913 . On May 21, 1938 he was appointed bishop of Nueva Caceres in the province of Camarines Sur on Luzon . On 15 May 1938 he received his episcopal ordination by the Titular Archbishop of Nicosia Guglielmo Piani Salesians of Don Bosco , whose co-consecrators the Bishop of Nueva Segovia Santiago Caragnan Sancho and the Bishop of Bacolod Casimiro Magbanua Lladoc were.

Santos Songco attended the first (October 11 to December 8, 1962) and third session (September 14 to November 21, 1964) of the Second Vatican Council as a Council Father. At his suggestion, the Basilica of Our Lady of Peñafrancia was built.
